Banner Ads and Successful Online Advertisement
So you are an internet marketer and you want to make money right? Or maybe you are just somebody with a product or service to sell that is looking for innovative ways to get your stuff in front of more customers eyes and increasing the size of your market share. Read about an excellent form of advertising called banner advertising that takes advantage of the wave of the internet.
The internet allows your market to instantly be any where in the world that there is a computer and that you can then ship your product or provide your service. Now some of the more traditional type services like doctors, plumbers, etc. will be limited by the geography naturally but this is still a great way to advertise in your area as more and more people are getting on the internet daily.
What is banner advertising you say? Well it is an ad that is placed on a website that is not related to the ad but preferably is one that lots of people will hit. It is an ad that usually is in some sort of image file and often contains typical words and pictures as well as animation and sound which are becoming popular “hooking” techniques.
The ad is usually short and wide or tall and narrow and this is why it is referred to as a banner. When a customer wants to see more they simply click on the banner and are taken via an embedded link to another page which is typically the sales page. If the product is something that you can purchase online or download it is done through this page.
Otherwise it is just more exposure for the advertiser.
Another good question is why would the host website allow the ad to be on their page? Well just like any form of advertising the advertiser pays for time or in this case space. Most often with banner advertising the deal is worked out according to how many clickthroughs happen in a given amount of time.
Usually the cost is five to ten cents per click.
How would I get my advertisement on a page? Well again just like other forms of advertising there are many ways to do it. You could personally contact the owner or operator of the site and work out a deal, or you could hire and advertising firm that does all of that work for you. Most often it is this second form that is used and these advertising companies will place the ad on multiple different sites and collect the fees, and paying the site’s owner or operator.
Many businesses don’t get success they want from advertising due to availability of very little resources. The results are simply flat due to lack of good ideas for improvements. Whether the ads are put in a local newspaper or are printed in the famous periodical or posted on a website, the money invested should gain the desired outcome. There are some common mistakes small businesses and professional service providers do when designing and posting the advertisement, which leads to the failure of the advertisement.
Bigger is better is believed in by many. That’s exactly what some of the small firms think when they want to advertise their product. They think bigger and select a medium where they need to invest a lot of money, but do not reach the targeted market. Like if a company specializes in designing diet plans and want to help out people who had disappointing results from their individual diet plans, and the company chooses to advertise a full page in the local paper instead of running advertisement in a health magazine, obviously not many of the dieters will notice the advertisement and the advertisement doesn’t get the desired attention.
So the point is to come up with the best campaign, which will increase the probability of the ad getting viewed and the right customers trying to buy the product or sign up for the service. Studies and research can be carried out on the market and targeted audience can be narrowed down. Once getting the list of newspapers, magazines and magazines meant for the customers in mind, find out how many readers they have and the cost they ask for posting the ad. Special deals are offered by them from time to time and can only be found by watchful eye.
It is estimated that everyday people are subjected to around three thousand commercials. That is a huge number and if someone desires to be noticed, he should certainly be different. Not only the services and product sold should be unique in the market, so should be the advertisement. The advertisement should also focus on the uniqueness of the product and how it is better compared to the competitors’ product.
Focusing on the problems of the customers and giving a solution for them, is what a customer demands. A customer does not buy a product; he buys benefits in the form of a product. The real value of the product should be realized and a clear picture of it should be presented to the customer so he will be able to relate with the product. If the advertisement doesn’t specify the solution it can provide, the customers will never know of it. So focusing on the customers problem is what some ads miss.
The last thing missing in most of the advertisement is motivation for the customers. If the advertiser has designed the advertisement and the customer had read the advertisement, all efforts and money invested will be wasted if he doesn’t get up and do something about it. It shouldn’t be assumed that the customer knows what to do; instead the advertisement should influence the mind of the customer and should tell him what to do. Call of action is the final job of the advertisement. It should call for information, or visiting the store or even visiting the online store. The message should sound confident.

10 Surprisingly High Paying Jobs
Can you Be a Successful Intrepreneur?
Intrepreneur. A person who organizes, maintains and takes responsibility for an internet business venture.
Starting any business is a somewhat daunting task, but to start what is now known as a traditional or offline business should only be considered if you have very deep pockets, a lot of patience or a unique and brilliant idea.
I say this because I have been running my own traditional style businesses for the last 10 years and to be perfectly honest, it is not getting any easier. On the contrary, it is actually harder if not impossible to earn a reasonable income now because of ever increasing overheads and diminshing profit margins due to unprecedented levels of competition both “on” and “offline”.
Each year I have seen my expenditure increase as a result of higher rent, rates, water charges, electricity/gas charges, insurances, staff costs, telephones not to mention raw materials. What makes matters worse, if I increase my prices accordingly to compensate, I notice a dramatic drop in sales and so I have become the proverbial hamster in the wheel running faster and faster but going nowhere.
However, with the advent of the internet and in particular broadband, it is now so much easier to start and run your own business. Furthermore, what is especially interesting is that this can be done with very little overheads, no business premises, no stock and no staff. The business is open for trade 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You can actually make money whilst you sleep.
Now is that a good business or not.
But wait a minute, any business whether it is traditional or online requires hardwork and effort and if you are not prepared to give them this then I wish you well in whatever you do because it is unlikely you will make money working for yourself.
On the other hand, if like me, you are prepared to give it your all, your total commitment, your undivided attention, you too can become an intrepreneur.
Believe it or not, setting up an internet business venture can be done by following the same blueprint that everyone before you has followed. It is not rocket science and you don’t have to re-invent the wheel. All you have to do is be committed, keep at it and do what others have done before you.
This is very much the key to be successful online.
What I have found in my years of business is something which I have called the 10% rule and it goes like this.
90% of the world’s wealth is owned by 10% of its population.
90% give up easily and only 10% go on to be reasonably successful
of this 10% only 10% go on to become very wealthy
and the reason they did was because they followed the rules and stuck at it.
There is no magical formula, no “holy grail”, just pure determination, commitment and with predetermined goals you and me can become one of the 10 percent.
All the information, tools and resources which you require are readily available to download from the internet itself.
I wish you every success and a prosperous future.
